Spring Letter From the President
Hello fellow resident members of Panorama Hills,
I hope that you have been healthy and well these past few months. As Spring approaches and the snow melts, the hope we all have of course is to see an eventual end to the pandemic and a return to normal community life as we once knew. Our residents association is at its best when members can gather at events, take part in community programs and feel they are a part of a thriving community.
As gathering restrictions ease, we have been able to open the PHCC once again and areas of the outdoor park for you to enjoy. Our newly flooded ice rink has been a popular venue for members and their families and was used consistently this season. As I mentioned in my last letter, we continue to monitor and follow the guidance of Alberta Health Services in order to act and react in the most appropriate and safe way for you. We also continue to take pro-active measures when planning our programs and events in order to ensure that we operate safely for members and staff.
Our mission remains the same, and that is to continue to deliver value back to you the members in the form of a beautiful and engaged community. A key effort right now in our value mission is the expansion of the PHCC, which was announced at the Sept. 2020 AGM. Our Capital Development committee has been hard at work piecing together the expansion project that is expected to triple the indoor space of the PHCC, all without raising annual fees! A feasibility study was completed in January 2021 and a project manager will be named shortly to move the project through the future phases.
This is a very exciting time for Panorama Hills as we execute on an opportunity that has been long overdue, considering the size and diversity of our community. This new centre will create a hub for members to foster connection through an environment that is holistic, open, inviting, integrated, collaborative, interactive, multi-generational and anchored in social connections. The expansion is expected to be completed some time in 2023 and we will keep you updated as the project progresses.
Throughout January and February of this year, we hosted four virtual open house events for the PHCC expansion project where members were able to ask questions, raise concerns and express support. We continue to run an online survey where you can still provide your thoughts and ideas. Please visit: www.mypanoramahills.com/expansion.
As always, membership, engagement and involvement are important steps to sustaining any community, and this starts with being informed. If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you, visit our website: www.mypanoramahills,com, subscribe to our e-newsletter, or follow us on social media, @mypanoramahills, and when safe to do so, come visit us at the Panorama Hills Community Centre and take part in one of our may events that we hope will be running again soon.
Please continue to stay safe, stay healthy, and have fun!
