Letter From the President
Hello fellow resident members of Panorama Hills,
Despite the snow now falling and winter just around the corner, there has certainly been no slow down to activities and initiatives at the residents association. Hopefully, during these past few months you managed to catch a glimpse of our newly mural-style painted basketball courts and attended our first annual 3-on-3 tournament, or made it out to one of our many summer BBQ's. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers have been working diligently all year to bring you quality activities, programs and communications and also a future capital development plan that I am excited to start sharing with you.
While still in the early stages, the Community Engagement and Capital Development committee has been piecing together a plan to deliver enhancements to our community centre and surrounding grounds area. A request for proposal (RFP) was sent to several architecture design firms within the city. Engagement of an architecture design firm to conduct a feasibility study and provide preliminary idea concepts is expected by the end of November. Along with this feasibility study, several open house engagement sessions will be planned in the new year for our members to provide input and feedback, so be sure to watch out for those announcements on our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as our e-newsletter.

Our annual Halloween Panic-Rama Hills Haunted House at the community centre has been a very popular scare attraction in Panorama Hills for the past 10+ years. This year was certainly no exception. Having been somewhat brave enough to venture through the haunted house myself, I can say that the staff and volunteers certainly did an exceptional job completely transforming the lower part of our centre into a very scary and fun experience, which was enjoyed by all. A very special thank you to all the staff and volunteers who made this event possible.
An important ongoing effort of our residents association is that of community engagement and involvement, especially with our youth demographic in Panorama Hills. This effort has progressed to a higher level in just the past few months thanks to some young and very keen individuals in our community. As a result, I am very proud to announce the forming of the new Panorama Hills Youth Council. This passionate group of young people (aged 12 - 17) came together recently to start and manage their own meaningful engagement projects to benefit the youth and others in our community. Be sure to watch for their announcements and events!
To get involved with the council (ages 12-17), visit https://www.mypanoramahills.com/events-1/panorama-hills-youth-council and RSVP to attend the first meeting of the council on Thursday, November 14th, 4:30pm at the community centre.
As a community, there are many ways to get involved, volunteer and participate. Currently, we are wanting to fill an open position on our board of directors as well as recruit more volunteers for some of our committees. Also, be sure to attend our Panorama Perspectives Open House event on Tuesday, November 19th from 7pm - 9pm at the community centre. As always, more information on these and other events is available on our website - http://www.mypanoramahills.com and social media.
Building strong community relations and delivering value back to you, the members, are the key drivers of our residents association and the measures of our success.
Stay safe, have fun, and hope to see you soon!
